Basil's Boma Offers 2 Unique, Tranqual and Private Units

The luxurious BUSH CHALET nestled in the bush veld is specifically designed for two people ‘ the two of us’. This romantic hide-away boasts views all round, a well dressed king sized four poster bed, a cosy fire place with the room opening out onto the large wooden deck, loungers to relax on with a spectacular view of the Magaliesberg Mountains and breathtaking sunsets. The private boma area, a fun little Mozambique inspired thatch bar leading off from the bush kitchen promises memorable evenings spent around the crackling fire reviving your senses and awareness to the night calls of the Night Jar, Jackals, beetles, frogs and more, all under our endless African skies. An inviting private splash pool leads off the bedroom offering quiet swimming experiences and bushland views, sweetest sounds of bird song and insects. The morning sunrises are food for the soul. Guests have the option of bed and breakfast or self-cater for this unit.

This quirky, rustic POTTER’S SHED self-cater unit offers accommodation for two or four eco minded guests. Visitors experience a totally different/individual character and lay out. As mentioned the unit is built at the end of the old potters shed – from here you will hear the sounds of the Mocking Chats roosting in the adjoining shed - the resident squirrel scurrying up the trees busy with his daily issues, the bossy Paradise Fly Catchers creating their nest in the thorn tree during the summer months, our two Emus named Jerry and Beauty along with the Bless Buck in the enclosure all offer interesting entertainment whilst experiencing unforgettable African sunsets over the Magaliesberg Mountains at the spacious outdoor area. Evening moonlight and star studded skies may be enjoyed at the fire pit and braai area. The large double lounger cushioned for comfort, cooling off in the cold water plunge pool or shower in the outdoor shower again with a view. The open plan living area boasts a lounge with a cosy fire place, large comfy couch, two large ottomans and combined dining room/ kitchen equipped with basic amenities. A well dressed queen sized bed, fan, en suite bathroom with shower and lu plus separate lu and basin. The second bedroom is furnished with two single beds.

Joanne has created a well thought out, safe, private & beautiful bush getaway that provides you with a deluxe & comfy king size 4 poster bed, an all boxes ticked rustic bathroom, a crystal clear mini pool, a braai & bonfire area, and the most relaxing recliner rocking chairs you've ever watched the sunset on. We really loved this quaint little rustic outdoor stay at the Potter's Shed, which was exactly what we needed to detach from reality and rest and relax. It was very clean and well kept. The beds are comfortable and warm. There are more appliances available to you then what is listed on the site. We loved our stay and would definitely return in summer to use the cold plunge pool.

Stayed at The Potter's Shed with another couple after a booking at another venue was unexpectedly cancelled. This was a lovely and spacious unit that is very well stocked with everything you require for self catering. A lot of love and care has been taken to ensure guest's stay is comfortable and the privacy was highly appreciated. Joanne was very welcoming and accommodating, showing us everything we needed for our stay and then left us to enjoy the peace and tranquility. Will definitely visit again, thank you Joanne.
